King Size Duvet Cover And Individual Bathrooms: Transforming Your Home Into A Bed And Breakfast
Mar 17th, 2010 by VD

The recession can induce people to look for other forms of income. On the other hand it might be because someone in your family has been made redundant and you need to supplement their income. Whatever the reason there are things you can do to get some money that doesn’t involve going back into an office.

And turning your home into a Bed and Breakfast is one of the most enjoyable and cost-friendly ways of binging in some much needed money. Some people will set up a B&B in a rural location when they get tired of city living and can afford a bigger house in the country. If you are lucky enough to already live in a sizeable house then there is no need to move and in fact the rooms might already be well set-up to be made into paid accommodation.

The Bed and breakfast industry is a £1.7 billion business in Britain, so it seems that there has never been a better time to get in on the action. You need to make sure that you fit the standard facilities like King Size Duvet Covers and beds as well as en-suite bathrooms. Communal bathrooms and single beds are definitely not the first choice for most tourists in this modern age.

There is a list that needs to be checked before you can start a B&B in your home however. First of all, make sure your house is situated in a place that has enough visitors to need another B&B or one at all. You need to make sure that the local council supports the conversion of the building from a home into a Bed and Breakfast. You need to make sure it is big enough to fit the number of rooms you will need in order to break even. You need enough money to equip the house with the required signs, fire doors and escapes etc.

And finally, you need to make sure that there is enough room in the building so that you can live comfortable whilst there are guests staying. You will have an unhappy life if you are squeezing into two rooms whilst your guests have the run of the house.

Making The Bed: How To Change Your Duvet Cover
Mar 9th, 2010 by VD

Changing your duvet cover can be a nightmare for some people who just cannot get to grips with all the material and corners they are faced with. Well not any more. For a step by step guide of changing your duvet cover, this is the article for you.

Step 1
You first need to empty your bed of all the covers and sheets that will be getting washed. Without these extra sheets you will have more room to change the bed linen and are less likely to get tangled up. You need to make sure you give yourself as much room as possible, especially if you have a king size duvet cover to change.

Step 2
You need to turn the new duvet cover inside out to begin with. When you try to shove the blanket into a cover you will understand why we use this method instead of any other. You should also lay out the blanket so that it is placed on your bed in the right position, with the narrow ends at the top and bottom.

Step 3
Next you need to find the two corners in the duvet cover which go with the two end corners of the blanket. For most covers this will be the two corners at the opposite end of the opening. bunch the material over your arms to stop it from falling over your head as you find the corners.

Step 4
Once you have hold of the corners it is time to find the corresponding corners of the blanket you want to cover. If you followed the instructions in step 2 then you should be standing at the bottom of the bed. Depending on how long your arms are you might need to stretch to be able to reach both corners at once, but just make sure they are tightly held together.

Step 5
Now comes the fun bit. Because I am only 5’5” it can be a struggle to get the duvet cover to surround the entire length of the blanket. With both corners firmly in hand, stand on the bed and give yourself a shake, which will make the duvet cover slide down the blanket. You might need to let the blanket hang off the bed if you are struggling to get high enough.

Step 6
Now the duvet should be totally covering the blanket and you will be able to fasten it at the bottom. Once all of the buttons/poppers have been fastened, give the duvet a final shake to even out any bumps and you will have a perfectly made bed to sleep in.

Choose Your Duvet Cover On The Foundations Of Feng Shui
Mar 8th, 2010 by VD

Over three thousand years ago the Chinese developed Feng Shui with good harvests and prosperity in mind. Water is the translation of Shui and Feng is translated as wind, both of which were needed if enough food was to be grown. To correct any imbalance in our lives, Feng Shui can be used in interior design. The bedroom is one of the principal rooms in the home that Feng Shui can be applied to, and the duvet cover should be focused on. How we go to sleep and wake up affects us throughout the night and day, this is why it is so vital.

You should focus on your bed above all else as this will be your cocoon of relaxation and healing. Do not neglect the walls, the colours and any views from your bedroom either.

In Feng Shui there are yin and yang colours. Yin colours promote relaxation and clam. Whereas looking at Yang colours can make us feel more energised, passionate and inspired.

Blue is a Yin colour which promotes love and healing, it can soothe us. Other yin colours include purple, black and white, which can make us more confidant. Mixing black with metals is supposed to help you in terms of career progress.

Yang colours are meant to inspire and energise you and are more pro-active than Yin colours. If you have a career or life goal, orange should help as it promotes organisation, concentration and a sense of purpose. Yellow is associated with friendliness and society, helping you to get out into the world.

So you cans see why it is important to choose the right duvet cover for your personality. If you find that you have a lack of energy in the morning, an orange and yellow duvet cover could make you feel ready to face the world with the energy you need. On the other hand if you need help getting to sleep on a night time, blue might be the colour for you.
